Moltkestein

The Moltkestein standing on the Kiel Canal near Schülp was erected on April 6, 1891 by Reich Chancellor Otto von Bismarck to commemorate a visit to the canal construction site by Field Marshal Count Helmuth von Moltke. The boulder, which weighs about 15 tons, originates from the canal bed of the Kiel Canal.
