On this Wadden Sea walk at South Beach in Sankt Peter-Ording, walking on the mudflats turns into a true nature experience. Protected by an offshore sandbank, this coastal stretch – not far from the village of Sankt Peter-Ording – is a true insider tip for shell collectors, coastal fans, beach lovers, and salt marsh enthusiasts.

We will take a closer look at the sand and mixed mudflats and embark on a search for many interesting species of animals and plants. Right on the sea floor, you will learn a lot about the true secrets of the Wadden Sea and understand why ebb and flow are so important to us at the coast. You will find real shells, discover brave crabs, and spot fast snails. I will introduce you to the Small Five and also reveal why, for us Frisians, these smallest creatures of the Wadden Sea are the greatest bringers of luck.  Perhaps we will also encounter different migratory birds in the Wadden Sea. There is much to report about their origins and special characteristics.
