WAI Woods Art Institute
The WAI Woods Art Institute, nestled in the western foothills of the Sachsenwald forest near Hamburg, is a fascinating interplay of art, nature and architecture. Originally built in 1914 as the summer residence of a Belgian merchant, the grounds are now home to a harmonious mix of historic buildings, a functional building from the 1940s and the modern exhibition building of the WAI Galleries, which was built at the beginning of the 21st century. The Reinking Collection, which is exhibited in the WAI Galleries, attracts art lovers from all over the world. The extensive landscaped park, designed by the renowned master gardener Rudolph Jürgens, offers visitors the opportunity to admire contemporary outdoor sculptures in the midst of historic garden architecture. The WAI Woods Art Institute is not only a place of exhibition, but also a place of creativity and education. In addition to the exhibitions, the WAI offers a variety of art courses and has seminar and event rooms as well as a boarding house and artists' studios. A visit to the WAI Woods Art Institute is an unforgettable experience for every art and nature enthusiast.
