Plön evolutionary path

Strandweg, 24306 Plön

The Plön Evolution Trail is a fascinating project by the renowned Max Planck Institute that stretches along the picturesque beach path in Plön. This educational trail takes visitors on a journey through the history of life on earth, from the formation of our solar system and the first cell to the dramatic changes in the atmosphere and the extinction of the dinosaurs. Eleven informatively designed stations, accompanied by a charming owl figure, offer a deep insight into the temporal dimension of evolution in both German and English. Each station is linked to a website entry that provides further details. The 1.3-kilometer-long evolution trail leads from Strandweg, past the landing stage of the Große Plöner Seerundfahrt, to the Max Planck Institute in August-Thienemann-Straße. A generous gift from the Max Planck Society, the Plön Evolution Trail is an essential part of any visit to Plön.
