Museum Tuch + Technik
The Museum Tuch + Technik is a living testimony to the history of textiles and the urban development of Neumünster. It illustrates the evolution of the textile trade, from its beginnings to the present day, with a special focus on the role of spinners, weavers and cloth makers. Visitors have the opportunity to see historical machines in action and observe the process of transforming raw wool into cozy plaids. The museum is located in the heart of the city and is just a short walk from the train station. A highlight is the opportunity to make your own blanket in a workshop on the loom. The children's technology academy offers young visitors the chance to understand the various steps involved in the process leading up to the finished product and to learn how manual work and machine work have merged over time and what new products have become possible through the use of machines. The Museum Tuch + Technik is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and at weekends from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. The museum is closed on Mondays.
