Museum of local history Hohenwestedt
24594 Hohenwestedt
The thematic focus is on the life and work of people in a church village on the Geestrücken in central Holstein up to the 21st century. The beginnings of the museum lie in a local history collection for pupils and citizens started in 1910 by the teacher and later director of the local history museum Hans Wilhelm Sierck, which was shown to the public from March 6, 1927. The building, which is a listed building, was restored and refurbished as a museum from 1983 to 1986. The museum regularly hosts temporary exhibitions on art, cultural and regional history.
