Malente Wildlife Park
The Malente Wildlife Park, centrally located and managed by the Village and Nature Association, offers a unique nature experience. Wild boar, red deer and fallow deer are at home on a 12-hectare area consisting of sparse forest and extensive meadows. The fallow deer, which roam freely in the park, are particularly trusting and are happy to accept snacks of local fruit or vegetables. The rather shy red deer, on the other hand, prefer to be admired from a distance. Caution is advised with the wild boar, especially in spring when the young boars are romping around and their mothers are particularly vigilant. In addition to these main attractions, Malente Wildlife Park is also home to smaller forest animals such as jays, woodpeckers, nuthatches, mice and agile squirrels. Numerous idyllic spots invite you to observe the animals in their natural environment. The Malente Wildlife Park is open all day and admission is free. Visitors are asked to stay on the paths and keep dogs on a lead so as not to disturb the animals. Jogging and cycling are not permitted.
