House of encounter
In the heart of Neumünster stands a proud testimony to times gone by: the Haus der Begegnung. As the last survivor of the once magnificent "Privileged Houses", it tells stories from a bygone era. Built in 1791, it served as the provost's residence from 1879 to 1933 before being lovingly restored by two visionary architects in 1980 and extended with a modern extension. Today, the Haus der Begegnung is a vibrant place of exchange and community that belongs to the Vicelingemeinde community. Its spacious halls and idyllic garden regularly host events that attract visitors from near and far. A visit is worthwhile at any time of year, but the house reveals its full charm especially in spring and summer, when the garden is in full bloom. A place that combines past and present in a unique way and invites you to linger.
