Hohner ferry
The Hohner ferry, a historical gem dating back to 1634, offers a unique way to explore the picturesque Eider landscape. The ferry, originally commissioned by a former mayor of Rendsburg, was revived in 1999 to transport pedestrians and cyclists safely between Friedrichsgraben and Tielenhemme. The Hohner ferry is not only a means of crossing the Eider, but also a platform for idyllic island tours. With advance booking, up to 10 people can enjoy the unspoiled nature of the Eider. A simple chime of the bell is enough to summon the ferry and save an almost 30-minute bike ride. The Hohner ferry operates from May to September, with the crossing costing just €1 per person and bicycles can travel for free. A visit to the Hohner ferry is a unique opportunity to experience the relaxed atmosphere and unspoiled nature of the Eider.
