Heiligenstedten Castle
Heiligenstedten Castle is a unique property located on the western outskirts of Itzehoe behind the Stör dyke. It is a former manor house that was built in 1583 and was added to a classical predecessor building in 1851. It offers 1,600 square meters of living space on four floors, high ceilings and even a pool in the garden. It is also surrounded by a moat.
Heiligenstedten Castle has an interesting history. Various noble families have lived here since the 14th century. This was followed by a youth home and a retirement home, among other things. The entrance area of the castle is a representative staircase in a huge hall, which is illuminated by neo-Gothic windows. On the mezzanine floor are bright, large rooms, the former reception area of the castle. After more than 20 years of vacancy, Heiligenstedten Castle is still in very good condition. Heiligenstedten Castle is now waiting for a new, financially strong visionary who can bring it back to its former glory.
