The Künstlerhaus Lauenburg city gallery, a new cultural highlight, will open its doors in Lauenburg/Elbe in October 2021. Thanks to the support of numerous sponsors, the Künstlerhaus Lauenburg e.V. was able to realize its modernization and expansion. The Stadtgalerie Künstlerhaus Lauenburg expands the existing Künstlerhaus with gallery spaces, a foyer and event rooms for art education. In addition to the existing exhibition rooms of the Künstlerhaus gallery and the terrace on the Elbe, it offers further prestigious rooms at Elbstr. 52. The renovation of the first floor at Elbstr. 52 restores the historic store entrance with its opening to the Alter Markt. A connection between the gallery spaces in the Künstlerhaus and the Stadtgalerie is made possible by a breakthrough between the buildings at Elbstr. 54 and 52. The Stadtgalerie Künstlerhaus Lauenburg forms a unique cultural constellation: it combines the work and living of international contemporary art scholarship holders with direct presentation opportunities in new gallery spaces and offers opportunities for cross-generational and cross-genre art and cultural mediation. The Stadtgalerie Künstlerhaus Lauenburg sets an example for the region and beyond - from an artistic, local, tourist and architectural/urban planning perspective. It secures and expands the quality standard achieved by the international, traditional scholarship site "Künstlerhaus Lauenburg". The Künstlerhaus Lauenburg city gallery attracts cultural and tourist attention and public awareness for the Duchy of Lauenburg. It offers incomparable stays on the banks of the River Elbe during the various events in the different seasons. On the occasion of the planned opening of the new Künstlerhaus Lauenburg city gallery on October 23, 2021, we cordially invite you to exhibitions, concerts and readings on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Künstlerhaus. Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 7:30 pm, the Künstlerbar will also be open again with an accompanying program of regional cabaret artists.
