Burger Forest Museum
The Burger Forest Museum is located in the middle of the Burger nature experience area with almost 30 hectares of forest, a special feature in the otherwise forest-poor Dithmarschen. The centerpiece and oldest part of the museum is the observation tower on the 65 m high "Wulffsboom". From there one has an overview of forests, meadows and fields in the nearer and wider surroundings of Burg. The extensive collection of taxidermy illustrates various habitats of the region. Other exhibition topics include nature and species conservation, hunting, geology, paleontology and archaeology of the region. The ground floor of the exhibition is barrier-free.
Forest nature trail, herb garden with barefoot path and adventure playground are located in the immediate vicinity. A largely barrier-free circular path leads through the forest as well as hiking trails through mixed forest and heath directly at the museum.
Afterwards, your children can let off steam at the forest playground right next door!
