Reepschlägerhaus

The Reepschlägerhaus, affectionately known as the "Reepi", is a historical gem that tells the stories of craftsmen who once made yarn, ropes and cordage. After serving as a home for centuries, it was on the verge of demolition in the 1970s. However, thanks to a dedicated citizens' initiative, it was saved and restored with much love and care. Today, the Reepschlägerhaus is a vibrant place of culture and encounters. Artists present their works in changing exhibitions, while readings and concerts fill the historic walls with life. A cozy café invites you to linger, where homemade cakes and pies, delicious waffles and a varied breakfast are served. A special highlight is the picturesque garden, which has been lovingly landscaped. Hidden seating areas in small alcoves invite you to enjoy the beauty of the garden and the small pond. A visit to the Reepschlägerhaus is an experience at any time of year, but it really comes into its own in spring and summer when the garden is in full bloom.
