Fürsthof

The "Fürsthof" is more than just a street in Neumünster. It is a living testimony to the town's history, with roots dating back to 1709. Known under various names, it owes its current title to the coarse blacksmith Joachim Först, who once resided on the corner of Großflecken. The street is home to some of the oldest buildings still standing in the city, including the house "Fürsthof 9". However, the "Fürsthof" is not only a place of the past, but also a vibrant center of the present. Where the "Theater am Fürsthof" once captured the hearts of culture enthusiasts, Café Olé now attracts visitors with a variety of events. Another highlight is the Künstlerhaus Stadttöpferei in house number 8. Since 1987, it has served as an "artist residence" for ceramic artists from all over the world, who live and work here for several months.
